Gucci Pour Homme II by Gucci

The violet in the opening notes of GPHII is delish! Everybody that said this is a sweeter and softer Tea for Two is correct. Personally, I prefer this to T4T because who really wants to smell like Earl Grey Tea in public? Not me. It is a very subtle scent, it lasts for a little while on my skin 4-5 hrs and then it's gone. Probobly shorter lasting on other ppl's skin b/c my skin tends to hold on to fragrances longer. Overall not a bad scent.

Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme by Dolce & Gabbana

Truely a classic scent. I can't complain about this one at all. If you want to smell good, wear D&G PH. With that said, don't expect to stand out really, b/c there will probobly be somebody next to you wearing this. It's a really popular frag. and I can smell why!

Very Irresistible for Men Fresh Attitude by Givenchy

if you want to smell like a york peppermint patty, this is for you! Gave this to my brother, not a bad scent. On the strong side when spritzed on my skin. Definately different from others in the department store display cases...but that's not really anything special.

Comme des Garçons 2 Man by Comme des Garçons

When I first sniffed this fragrance I was instantly reminded of Le Labo's Vetiver 46. Both are very masculine fragrances, both are a little astringent, and both are growing on me. After the initial top notes though, the similarities fade. More of the smokey incense notes come out on my skin as this fragrance develops. I like it!

Bois du Portugal by Creed

Definately NOT a fragrance you would call "youthful", but "classy" and "sophisticated" do fit the bill. I don't know why, but I was expecting more leather. Smelled this on a testing strip before and it made me cringe. recently I got a sample from TPC and got a full wearing of it yesterday and my mind was changed. Definately an old school type of fragrance. It says up top that Frank Sinatra use to rock this...I think he would have been the perfect spokesman for BdP if they ever did start an ad campaign.

Grey Flannel by Geoffrey Beene

I used to wear this in Highschool!!! OMG brings back memories (good and bad). This was my one cologne and I wore it year round...BIG mistake. Kinda cloying in the warmer months. I didn't know I was wearing a classic however...cool feeling.

Un Jardin sur le Nil by Hermès

Super light fresh fragrance. You have to really get your nose into sombody's neck to smell this stuff. It's for those not wishing to make a statment but still wants to smell nice. Too bad it's not stronger though, I really like the mango note.

French Lover / Bois d'Orage by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle

This is a very manly scent. No sweetness, no flowers, no non-sense. Smells like a man. Nuff said.

Vanille Extasy by Montale

This is a very flirty, flamboyant, femme fragrance. I wouldn't wear this personally, but I definately wouldn't mind smelling it on an attractive young woman. Smells like vanilla ice cream. A cold, creamy interpretation of vanilla.

Soleil de Capri by Montale

Got a decant from Perfumedcourt. I liked how it smelled, just not on me. Gave it to a female friend and she loves it. Smells alot like Versace Man Eau Fraiche and Light Blue. I wouldn't pay the price tag for a full bottle though...

Vétiver Extraordinaire by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle

YES! Vetiver, vetiver, vetiver GALORE. Green, fresh, but not weak. Not for everyone though. Only vetiver lovers may enter!

Voleur de Roses by L'Artisan Parfumeur

This is a mood fragrance. I wear it whenever I feel melancholy and want to wallow in my melancholic state. I can't really wear this fragrance anywhere other than at home. It is very well done, but don't wear this when you want to feel cheery and energetic. You'll just get sucked in by its pensive, melancholic aura.

Terre d'Hermès by Hermès

Very safe, not breathtaking, but it is recognizable. I like this stuff. It's my go to frag. when I dont' know what to wear. Don't expect to smell "sexy" with this though, just expect to smell good. Perfect for daily wear, very versatile in warm or cold weather. Can be a little strong if you spray too much though...had a bad experience with that. Overall i would recommend this.

Straight to Heaven by By Kilian

This is my favorite club/bar fragrance. Rum, Rum, RUM!!! It always garners compliments whenever I wear it. It is a bit more pricey than other niche brands, but I would gladly pay that extra $$ for this exquisite juice! If you want to attract attention to yourself, get this stuff. Unique, good sillage, excellent longevity, good projection. It's worth it guys, GET IT!!!

Story by Paul Smith

Nothing special about this one, good quality though. You won't offend anybody, but you won't impress anybody either. Good for the office, outdoors, hot or cold.

Route du Vétiver by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier

This is vetiver punching you right in the nose. If that's what you're into, like me, then by all means, go for it!!!

Rose 31 by Le Labo

I don't know what others are referring to when they say doughy, but it does kind of have that three dimensional quality to it. To me it smells more like a "winey" rose. I reserve this fragrance for 3rd dates or romantic occasions in general. Not overpowering, excellent sillage, longevity is decent. One of my current favorites, I just don't wear it often unfortunately :-(

Nasomatto Duro by Nasomatto

This stuff is like M7 except SO much MORE refined. Heavy on the leather, but not aged, worn in leather. More like brand new leather jacket leather. Expensive leather at that. Good stuff, don't wear it in the summer tho, it doesn't quite mix well with sweat...
22 August 2008

Nasomatto Absinthe by Nasomatto

Almonds...I really like this stuff. One of my favorites. I don't really have a problem with longevity. Not a scent that grabs your attention, rather it charms you into getting closer and closer. Good juice!

Musc Ravageur by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle

Absolutely LOVE this stuff!!! Makes me want to jump myself, thank goodness it has the same effect on females :-P. Everything else has been said, it lives up to all the hype.

L'Air du Desert Marocain by Tauer

Just WOW!!! This is one of those scents I love wearing to bed. It always brings good dreams. Spritz on the neck, hop in to bed, dream of flying on a magic carpet in the "Morocain" desert. A masterpiece!

Green Irish Tweed by Creed

A classic. Long lasting, decent sillage, very versatile. Careful with the trigger, it can get overbearing. In moderation it is a very pleasant scent. Nothing outrageous or outstanding about this Creed, not by modern standards anyway, just a good scent.
22 August 2008

Fou d'Absinthe by L'Artisan Parfumeur

PINE!!! That's the predominant note I can make out. There is a flash of it's name sake at the beginning but it disappears quickly (thank goodness, who wants to smell like a hallucinegenic liqour?). FdA is a very versatile fragrance. It doesn't really call attention to itself though. I wear it because it reminds me of christmas trees.

Daim Blond by Serge Lutens Les Salons du Palais Royal Shiseido

This really does smell like white suede! I LIKE IT!!! It is rather on the femme side of the unisex scale, but that doesn't bother me. On my skin it doesn't turn too sweet. Not that turning sweet is a problem for me. Good for summer nights IMO. This is the only SL frag. that I own a full bottle of.

Millésime Impérial by Creed

THE KING of citrus scents. Cheers me up whenever I wear it. Longevity does kinda suck, but it's SO NICE while it's there. I have to bathe in this whenever I want to get any sillage/projection. Only problem with this is its copy cat, Unforgivable. Whenever somebody compliments me on this they always think it's Unforgivable. Meh, as long as I enjoy the scent right?

Éclat d'Arpège by Lanvin

Every woman should invest in this beautifully transparent, yet sensual, fragrance. This is what a sexy, sophisticated, young woman should be wearing during the day. This and Annick Goutal's Songes are my two favorite scents to smell on a woman. Nuff said.

Central Park by Bond No. 9

UBER-green frag., really really clean smelling, really really impressed with this scent...so impressed that I bought a bottle. I fell in love with it at first sniff. My taste in fragrances are really eclectic, so I like switching it up quite a bit. This frag. is perfect for those warm summer days OR nights. I would even condsider wearing this frag to the club b/c it stands out. I'm not very well versed as far as green frags go but, I've never smelled anything like this before. If you're into green scents, I would recommend giving this offering from Bond no.9 a try.

Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin by Lolita Lempicka

ALOT of anise in the opening, but if you like that particular note, it's not a problem. Dries down to something very similar to Luten's Douce Amere, but more muted. Very pleasant, moderate sillage, longevity is pretty good. Sweet but not cloying. Reminds me of licorice or a root beer float! I've been complimented by the opposite sex many times b/c of this scent. I wear this for the ladies, and for myself when I don't need to feel very masculine. I'm wondering how this would smell on a woman...

Rochas Man by Rochas

New Haarlem is very similar to this, although NH is alot more complex and refined, ie creamier and more "real" smelling, it's really difficult to differentiate unless they're side by side. Since RM is much cheaper, this one is definately the smarter buy. I like this gourmand scent, but I find Lolita Lempicka the more unique choice as far as gourmands go. Although both get alot of attention from the opposite sex.

Nasomatto Silver Musk by Nasomatto

Can't make out any notes...other than musk ofcourse. Really subtle, really, REALLY nice scent. If MKK is what your skin is supposed to smell like after coitus, dirty, sweaty, sexy smelling skin; silver musk is on the complete opposite side of the spectrum. This is what your skin would smell like after you've bathed in precious bath oils and flower petals. The only other analogy that I could come up with is that silver musk is what I imagine elf skin (like LOTR, Liv Tyler kind of elves) must smell like.

B*Men by Thierry Mugler

This is a strange frag., some days I love it, other days I don't. The top notes are a little harsh: spicy, sour, and sweet all at the same time. I like how it's distinctive, but not everybody finds it pleasant. Good thing the top notes only last for 1-2 hrs max (depending on the weather) on me. When it does dry down, B*Men is wonderful. Amber and vetiver, the right amount of sweet with the right amount of sour. Probobly not a good idea to wear this when you plan to sweat though....

A*Men / Angel Men by Thierry Mugler

Can't really dislike how it smells, it's kinda chocolate, kinda coffee, kind of caramel. So basically its a caramel, mocha, frappachino. It smells delicious, but I just don't know if I want to smell like it. What I can say I dislike about this fragrance is how cloying it is. It just attacks your nose and fills it up with smell. Made me dizzy.

Himalaya by Creed

This is a fragrance that garners compliments like "you smell very nice" or "what you're wearing is quite pleasant". Nothing sexy, seductive, or alluring about this fragrance, but it does make a good first impression. It's icy cool (like the frozen mountain tops it's named after), but not snobby. It does evoke images of snowy mountain tops the more I spent time with it. My favorite creed to wear for myself. Although I do enjoy MI, SMW, and GIT on others.

Original Santal by Creed

Yes there is a resemblance to Joop!, but where Joop! is overbearing and too sharp, OS is just right and creamy. Joop! had the right idea....OS improved on it. I agree with merlino that it's a very casual fragrance. I get good sillage and longevity with this Creed. Good for a club or a night out with friends. Not an "attention getter" per se, but you will smell nice. I also believe this scent is unisex b/c it is a very sweet fragrance. The vanilla/tonka base is very comforting to me, my favorite part of this scent.

Rive Gauche pour Homme by Yves Saint Laurent

Very manly scent. I do get the barbersol effect here as well. It's a little salty and sharp smelling at first but then dries down to something more subdued but still perfectly masculine. Pluses: Your girlfriend or SO will NOT be borrowing this scent, but she will love it on you. Minuses: You smell like you just came out of a barbershop (not really a minus in my book, but that's the closest thing to a minus I could think of)

Reflection Man by Amouage

I'm not one for floral fragrances, and I didn't think I could pull this one off but after reading Vilbert's review and getting a sample from parfumsraffy.com I couldn't resist the urge to get a bottle! Fell in love with the frag. and just had to have it...but I still wasn't sure I could pull it off. One night I felt adventurous and spritzed it on for a night out. All my friends, male and female alike commented on how nice and bright I smelled. Not an everyday scent for me, but it's something nice for special occasions in the summer months.

Oh btw this is one of those scents you have to spray in the air then walk through the mist, otherwise you get the mothball smelling note that supermarky's talking about

M7 Fresh by Yves Saint Laurent

Froot loops? Yes please!!! Bought this one blind off of the reviews, one of my best blind buys to date. It is a little smokey after it dries down a bit. Fresh but dark, fruity yet classy. Made me appreciate the original M7 more, but I still won't wear it. For me this is the perfect version of M7.

Versace Man Eau Fraîche by Versace

This frag. was my first buy this year, and also, the frag. that started my love affair with cologne/perfume. It's definately a sweet fresh fragrance. Like candy citrus to my nose. The top notes fade quickly on me but the amber try down sure does last quite awhile on my skin. Mmmmm, amber.

Saks Fifth Avenue for Him by Bond No. 9

Only tried it once, a pretty SA asked me if I wanted to try it while I was looking for Nuits de Noho, I said why not. Not at all impressive. This isn't a bad scent by far. It's just nothing special. Still, I think it smells good, similar to the new Escada moon sparkle but less green smelling, but it won't have me yearning to buy a bottle.

Muscs Koublaï Khän by Serge Lutens Les Salons du Palais Royal Shiseido

First wearing was a little off putting, it smelled sweaty, heavy, animalic, and slightly sweet. The second wearing was SO much better. No more sweaty and heavy smell, just a nice animalic, yet still slightly sweet fragrance that made my mind wander to thoughts about the aftermath of bodies intertwined in coitus. A very erotic and seductive fragrance from SL. I wish it was easier to access it here in the US.

Nuits de NoHo by Bond No. 9

I smelled NdNH on paper, it made me dizzy and nautious. Tried it on my skin, how delish! Complete 180 degree turn around from paper to skin. Pineapple is such a refreshing alternative to all the citrusy or flowery offerings in mass market world. I agree with cologneguy that this could be unisex b/c I KNOW I could pull this scent off, but I bet it would smell even yummier on female skin. Might get a big bottle for me and the SO.

Black Aoud by Montale

Too dark, too melancholy, too simple. Too divinely dark, too well craftedly (is that a word?) melancholy, and simple...simply wonderful that is. Unfortunately also too unwearable for me, for now atleast, that's why the neutral rating. BUT if you are the dark, brooding, and simplistic type, Black Aoud is definately for you. Me, I'll stick to my Le Labo Rose 31 as far as rose scents go.

Héritage by Guerlain

First impression of the initial spritz was "oh no, no, not for me, but let's see how it develops". An hour later it dried down to something comforting and familiar but still something I wouldn't wear. It was too mature of a frag. for a person my age (25). As I kept on sniffing, it kept on developing into something very soothing and very, VERY familiar. Then it came to me...it smelled like my grandpa. On my next visit to my grandparents' house, I opened my grandfather's frag. wardrobe, and low and behold, there it was Heritage.

Vetiver by Guerlain

I'm still a bit new to the world of fragrance and this is my first review, so bear with me. Passed by the Guerlain section of Dillards and saw Vetiver and just HAD to try it after all I've heard from all the bn-ers. I got a spritz on the wrist and the moment I put it up to my nose to inhale I was transported back to my childhood. "THIS IS BABY COLOGNE" I told the SA, she just looked at me with a confused expression. (My mom used to get baby cologne from Spain, actually had a similar experience when I smelled "agua de sevilla" in Seville, Spain a few years back). This frag. was a trip down memory lane, going to buy a bottle soon!
