Brand Profile: Ineke of San Francisco

It is surprising no-one has done this before (as far as we know). San Francisco-based independent perfumer, Ineke Rühland has just launched four perfumes, each named after the first four letters of the alphabet. Ineke plans to launch 'E' in 2007, and the rest of the alphabet over the next ten years.

The first four fragrances are:

After My Own Heart - "The scent of fresh lilacs floating on the early evening breeze". Includes notes of bergamot, raspberry, lilac, sandalwood, heliotrope and musk.

Balmy Days & Sundays - "Lying face-up to the sky, dappled light flickering through the pale green of overhead branches.". Includes freesia, grass, mimosa and musk

Chemical Bonding - "Sparkling Citrus + Powdery Soft = A Flirtatious Alchemy". Notes of tea, blackberry, citrus notes, dewy peony, vetiver and amber

Derring-Do - "Spring rain, fresh and fearless, the first glimmers of light". Includes notes of cyclamen, magnolia, cedarwood and musk; and is a masculine fragrance.

Everything about the Ineke brand is beautifully crafted, from the website to the Deluxe Sample Collection (pictured above)- which includes spray samples of the four fragrances, each housed in a box, which are then presented in a soft pouch. The sample collection costs just $12, which is redeemable against the price of a full bottle.
