CK Man is a really good fresh, clean scent. Upon opening, I get more of the violet-mandarian top notes. After about 5-10 minutes, the top notes soften and the bay and spearmint come through...a little loud actually, but nice. The bottom notes is where it really shines for me. The sandalwood, cypress and amberwood become dominate and mesh with the green notes giving Man and very nice, pleasant, green, clean scent. I really enjoy Man. Sillage is about normal and longevity is normal to high for me. I can see this being a crowd pleaser around the wearer. I concur with surreality's review and I don't see the similarity to CK One Scene which I also have and adore. Sunsetspawn nailed it with the image of a forest after a light rain. That is a good visual for Man. Will this turn heads at a rave party in the Paris underground? No, which is what most of the reviewers are basing their reviews on. There is nothing in the formula that jumps up, slaps you in the face because its so potent, overbearing and weird demanding attention because its from a $300 bottle. Will it get you complimented on a normal night out with friends, at the ski slope/beach or walking around town? Most assuredly, yes.

pleasantly surprised at this effort by CK. tho i only prefer the older ones with the exception of Escape. Ive found the new releases not as good (discounting eternity and one summer versions- which have always been good at least for the past 3 years). Between this and euphoria, id take this. Though euphoria looks sexy with its chic bottle, the scent is quite a let down. id reccommend CK Man if you're fond of the likes of gucci ph II (which is sweeter), allure homme - i call them high-end-bodering-overpriced fresh fragrances. Ck man is a more economical choice. almost like loewe solo too. filled up a decant of it from my friend's and still thinking if i should buy over since he didnt really like the sweetness.

Opens up smelling like fresh mint and spearmint leaves. When I say fresh, I mean like smelling them in the produce section at the supermarket. I don't detect much sweetness at all.

The dry-down becomes slightly spicier and I can detect something like parsley in addition to the mint leaves.

And that's all there is to this according to my nose. It smells good, but it isn't for me. Going around smelling like FRESH mint and parsley just isn't appealing.

This is very subtle at first but the violet leaves and rosemary are rather fun. Usually I dislike cypress but it's not a major player here. When you need a youthful but inoffensive, light scent, use this.

Man could be classified as a generic "fresh" scent, however, if it's given some time it proves itself to be more. It's got a more natural smell to it than many of its competitors. The wood and spice combination are just right in that they evoke the smells of walking through a northeasten North American forest after a light rain. The only downside I can see here is that because Man is a very pleasant, natural smelling, inoffensive fresh scent you may find that you're quickly smelling like everybody else if it gains popularity.

Here's hoping that the "natural nature" of this scent keeps the masses away.

Natural nature, ya hear me?

Just another green fragrance... Nothing original, nothing refined, very mainstream... Horrible! I can't imagine how a fashion label would create such a dull and common fragrance. It has absolutely nothing special, nothing you could enjoy. It's surely one of the worst perfumes I've ever encountered.

The rosemary and mint top and middle notes, coupled with its longevity on my skin, really makes this one stand out from the CK crowd. If your looking for something highly original, quirky or elegant then this fragrance is NOT for you. However, if you want something unobtrusive but still a little different from most of the mainstream fragrances out there this may just be worth a try.

This reminded me a lot of cK one Scene (less the ginger), although they share but two notes (mandarin and amber wood, per the scent pyramid). At any rate, Calvin Klein Man while fresh, clean and inoffensive, Man does not have the depth (or duration) of cK one Scene. In a word, unremarkable.

i love it, for some reason it seems like an "oriental" scent to me, images of samurai style scenery comes to mind for some reason.. Fresh scent, ive had females drool over it plenty of times. These people are saying unoriginal and boring but they are seasoned perfume critics, the cute girl at the bar will think its plenty original, trust me.

While I found this highly generic, I found it fairly competent and inoffensive if used sparingly.

You can't rush this one, if you do you will keep it bad feedback. That said, first impression was: familiar, as in I have smelled this before. It is very fresh oranges, peels and all. Then pepper shows up but not to take over the show. It hangs around for a good while (an hour plus) at which point everything comes alive and I finally declred this a good scent. It isn't totally unique because it takes you on a journey thru several fragrances (if you know your scents), but it does so quite beautifully. A few hours later it settles down to a shy Carolina Herrera for men. I like it. It is great for office wear because it will not offend anyone and will probably get a few compliments along the way. If you want something distinctive, then this is not it. But if you want something bright in a suit or just a shirt and tie (albeit with open arms) then this is it.

I don't care for the bottle, but the juice is worth the money.
BTW: it is nothing like Euphoria and CKin2U or relish for that matter! :)

Boo. Has an amber drydown that tends toward the feminine. Prada fans please apply.

Nothing particular, could be easily confused with many other's around.

Calvin Klein MAN contains rosemary, mandarin, bay, juniper, nutmeg, incense, spearmint, cypress wood, and, oh dear, the usual (and overused) fragrance notes of bergamot, violet leaf, guaiac wood, sandalwood, amberwood (which is in LOTS of fragrances this year) and musk...

The start is nice crisp and gorgeous.
The base and the dry down spoil everything again... Centered in a scented composition of really horrible cheap bergamot scent (as the two last launches for men) and a (thank god for that) nice aroma of juniper, light woods and shy incense note.

The same result of CKin2u or euphoria.
Smells mostly the same with a variable of one unique note that make a slightly difference on them.
Words apart of the lack of quality.
Cheap manufacture means cheap result, cheaps smell.
argh!
