When I wear this I smell two things... Tea, which I love, and pimentos. which I I love... TO EAT. So far, the two tea inclusive fragrances I've tried have had an additional note that ruined it. This had pimentos, and the other one had burnt rubber, and we all know which one that is. I don't know if it's my skin or my nose, but sour notes really seem to stand out on me. Don't get me wrong, interesting is great, but at the same time a smell should immediately convey a desire to get closer and smell more, at least to me. 26 August 2008

I wanted so much to love you because of that black-tea and cinnamon sensation that sold me at first sniff...but the musk made it impossible and you went back the very next day. 11 August 2008

For those of you who are looking for an alternative to Dzing, this is it. It has the same gourmand/leathery nature with a little more spice. I didn't think that this could live up to the original Gucci Pour Homme but I actually like this one even better. It's one of the few recent releases that I would consider buying. 05 June 2008

It's not perfect but there is something elegant and "expensive" in this one. 16 May 2008

When I apply GPH II, my skin initially gets a tingling sensation, which is a bit unsettling. Almost feels like something burning. Thankfully, the sensation goes away in a few seconds leaving no evidence behind. As to the scent itself, GPH II seems dominated by Black Tea and Cinnamon early. It has a smoky character that gives way to gentle wood and musk in the base. Overall, a pleasant scent, but not compelling. 17 December 2007

GPH II reminded me a bit of Penhaligon's Opus 1870 because of the pepper overlaying sweet undernotes. Opus uses rose while Gucci uses tea and cedar. I'm a fan of Gucci Envy and the first Pour Homme, and while this scent isn't bad, it's sweeter, lighter, and blander than Opus 1870 (which I love), so it gets a thumbs-sideways. The visual presentation is stunning. 10 November 2007

I thought I wanted this scent, but as I put in another wearing or two of the sample I got, I started changing my mind. It starts off well enough, I think it was the violet leaves that caught my attention, but as the scent developed on me, it became more of a bitter smelling wood, linear and a bit monotonous and lifeless. When you think it was heading somewhere, you're left off with a big question mark. I won't give it a thumbs down because my initial reactions were quite pleasing, but I just feel that the base needed something more to keep me interested in the scent. 28 October 2007

I LOVE IT when I get really excited about a new frangrance and it ends being so similar to something I already have that it's not worth purchasing. This fragrance is, on my skin, VERY similar to Lalique Pour Homme Equus, though I don't notice Cedar in the fragrance pyramid. The richer Equus takes the prize here for its beauty and elegance, though for summer, I could imagine Gucci having a slight advantage for its lighter nature, it's more modern take in its slightly crisper cleaner woods, and especially for the coolness it evokes in the first inhale. Think sweet cedar, tea after it has cooled to room temperature and then throw in an ice cube, cinnamon, and you have Gucci II Pour Homme. 18 June 2007

On me, this scent was linear black tea with some faint woodsy/smoky accents. I think this could be a fabulous creation if the woods and herbs were made stronger. The black tea (lapsang souchong?) is a good start, but it is missing complexity and depth. A pale cousin of Gucci Pour Homme I. 02 June 2007

Very much liked the Gucci pour Homme, so my expectations were on top... But as often happens when you await too much from something - you get disappointed! Nice flacon and all, but we have seen it before, but the scent is very light and has to my nose no orientation towards GPH at all. Detectable notes are bergamot, tea and musk, but for the rest of the notes this blend is just too weak to detect them. Quite disappointing I must say, and not even a little surprising like the Fahrenheit 32 that I tried out at the same occasion... 09 April 2007

I had a chance to sample this at nordstroms, and i have to say it smells nice. Its difficult to place though, because its so weak. You would literally have to bathe in it to have any enduring sillage. Too bad. 31 March 2007

My first impressions of GPHII: underwhelming. With a reported topnote of Bergamot I had expected an initial blast of citrus, but all I was assaulted with, is the black tea heart. Some hours later, I was still left with black tea, an odd saltiness, and a hint of olivewood. Is this Gucci's interpretation of a Bvlgari scent? Whatever the case, where GPHI was all about Byzantine Monestries, precious woods and incense, GPHII is all about Turkish teahouses on the waterfront. Not unpleasant, but not an immediate winner in my book. 25 March 2007
