Very Irrésistible for Men (2005)

Let me be succinct: It is good, but it is hardly 'very irresistible'.

My sister loves this scent on men, and that's why I gave it a try. It is nice, rather light, but it is very bland to my taste. I would not say this is bad: it is more like 'sure, why not...' type of scent.

It is like that light cream next to a big beautiful chocolate cake; the cream does not necessarily need to be there, but its presence does not annoy you per se. I would recommend this for summer maybe, but it is in no way an Earth-shattering type of cologne. The bottle is chic, yet the spray mechanism has that 'about-to-break any second' type of sensitivity as it is mostly the case with any cap-less one-piece unconventional spray designs.

The notes are not worthy of much discussion.

A piney amber that kinda reminded me of a Polo scent. I liked it at first but it only lasted an hour on me. Everything was gone by the time I reached my destination driving to a friend's house. I'd have to give it a thumbs down for huge a disappointment.

I really love this one. It smells something like citrus with hazelnuts and a bit of coffee. It lasts a long time. On my skin, I could still smell it a bit after 14 hours.

It is very pleasant and I find it very light to wear. It is not cloying.

This is also a gourmand scent, and not overly masculine. I think it could be labeled as Unisex.

When I first put it on, all I can smell is a sort of pine scent mixed with chocolate. This is what attracted me to this fragrance from the start because I haven't really encountered anything with this sort of combination in the top notes. This melts away to a more woodsy middle and base notes that last on me all day.
My wife didn't like it at first because I put too much on and she said it smelled a little too much like bug repellent. But once I toned it down a bit, it has become more tolerable to her. This is one of my go-tos for most occasions. I've been asked what it is on several occasions by some female friends of mine because they were intrigued by the combination of scents in the fragrance.

Some have said that instead of this, you should use GIT. I disagree in that GIT and VI are two different animals and other than the green notes; they have totally different dry downs. But I must say, this is a fragrance that you should try sparingly and definitely check to see how it works with your skin type before committing to it.

I have it and I absolutely love it. And judging by the responses I've gotten ("I must take you home with me"! and "WHAT are you wearing?") and the numbers I've obtained, I think it's safe to say Givenchy got this one right. This one lingered on me for a while (not that I minded) and it has a pleasant, sweet smell to it. It's easy to go overboard with this one. It sort of has a chocolate smell to it, too. A little wood scent as well. I wish I could use it in a Glade Plug-in lol

I like the bottle, too. The black and green looks cool and it's simple to use (no caps to lose).

This is a very nice fragrance smells really bad on paper in my opinion as does the initial blast but after a few minutes it's very nice. A definite compliment getter last a minimum 6 hrs on my skin so a thumbs up.
