No, no. This is not a fragrance for me. To me the almond accord of Blu Mediterraneo Mandorlo di Sicilia has morphed into an almond-bubble gum accord. It’s too cheaply sickly sweet and, well…bubble gummy. Almond is one of my most respected notes—I love it in most of the other almond fragrances I’ve tried, but I don’t care for it as it is done here. Maybe the problem isn’t the almond note alone. I would guess that it’s the vanilla that ruins the almond accord for me. The almond and vanilla and maybe even the peach create a super sweet bubble gummy accord. I’ve had that experience with vanilla in one or two other fragrances before. At any rate, thumbs down on a $62 bottle of bubble gum flavored scent. 18 January 2007

My favourite from the Blu Mediterraneo line. A very gentle and warm skin scent with vanilla and almonds. Although intentionally subtle, I do wish that it made more of a statement. A great comfort scent. 15 January 2007

"Are you wearing Mandorlo di Sicilia or did you just spill cream soda all over yourself?" Better keep talking & moving while wearing this or people will mistake you for a giant vanilla-scented candle. Those always smell cheap and artificial. So does this. 26 December 2006

This is one of the scents that got me really passionate about the whole idea of expanding my olfactory wardrobe ! no joke. I agree with the other post - it has a real medicinal effect to calm. Vanilla ,bergmont , etherial lavender similar to the A.d.P. colonia, but I get this really heady confectionary rush during and after the open - like the most expensive oppulent candy in the world along with the other notes as well. Extemely sweet without being cheap or unbalanced. It does go a bit more spicy later but never a loss of the sweet vanilla-esque, tender quality of perfection in this masterpiece. YUM+ !!! 25 August 2006

Beautifully gentle and soft, this fragrance seems to disappear into my skin and leave the faintest warm scent. 30 May 2006
