  |  An elegant and very refined fragrance. Definitely green, but not sharp and loud as most of the green scents... this is clean and comfortable. I like it a lot, it's formal, classy and very complex.24 July 2008 |
 | This fragance is very deep and potent. I love green fragances, and this one reminds me quality. VanCleef is one of the finest jewerly houses. They do very good things for people who knows what is good. Tsar is one example of a well made product. Maybe too classical, not for people under 40. Very masculine and character. For people who loves safe colognes. I recommend it for winter nights. 12 July 2008 |
 |  From the notes listed here, I would've liked this one a lot more. However, the pepper in this really destroys the loveliness of the lavender and the moss. Very green and synthetic and as others have said, out-dated.26 May 2008 |
 | About the original formula: Smells like a dusty woollen blanket drenched in cigarsmoke covering a drunken aristocrat. Too much, too much of many things (ie lavender, patchouli, sandalwood). 11 April 2008 |

| After spraying this fragrance on the test paper I was initially put-off by the top notes. But after leaving it for 3-4 hours, I tried it again and the dry down was amazing. The basenotes (most notably Sandal, Leather and Moss) blend together to create an even, mildly spicy fragrance that will entice you to lean down onto your wrist and smell again and again... 25 December 2007 |

|  High quality ingredients and construction, but this smells surprisingly like Cool Water and Drakkar Noir, just slightly better. Extremely fresh and aquatic with poor longevity. 24 November 2007 |
