Leathery citrus chypre that's masculine. At first I thought I was smelling Kouros but no way. This is more simple than Kouros and much more approachable. Much better than other leather chypres from the 80's/90's that seem like clones of each other. When you wear this is screams "look out!".

Wonderful, sexy scent. Can't add to current descriptions other than recommending it highly to men.

This is a beautiful, traditional masculine scent. It isn't shy at all. It begins with a very pronounced mandarin (tangerine) note, and then gets more floral, green, and spicy as it begins to dry down; all this without letting go of the citrus accord. Having said all that, you'd really have to classify this as a leather-chypre scent. The drydown, which is noticeable for hours, lingers in the leather-moss-amber-patchouli base witha hint of cumin. You certainly won't smell minty-fresh by the end, but you will smell manly!

This is the first fragrance I bought only after having read reviews instead of having tried it myself.
The bottle charmed me, the name too and the reviews confirmed it. It's the scent I was loking for!
I'm half-Mexican half-Italian and Sybaris remembers me of the colognes that many adult people (uncles and maybe my father too, but I know he used Antaeus at the time) wore in Mexico during my childhood.
It revives some part of me that sleeps most of the time...
Speaking of the notes, I think the Cumin is the touch of class: you cannot find a Mexican dish without Cumin!
My thanks to all the reviewers of Sybaris and to Antonio Puig.

P.S.: I'm in my first 20s, not in my late 30s, but I care not! It's a matter of personality instead!

There were many in this genre in the eighties: a leathery chypre with citrus / green top notes and spice / green mid notes. Sybaris is beautifully accomplished in its Spanish character. There’s a deeper and richer blending than in the usual 80’s chypre—especially in the toned down, darker, citrus opening and the predominant greens in the floral middle. In the base notes, the leather is diminished and the vetiver, moss, and amber are more prominent than in other versions I’ve encountered: I heartily approve because I dislike overly leather fragrances. Though rich, strong, and long-lasting, Sybaris has a well-behaved sillage.

Although I am a little older than late 30s I love this fine and rich creation. I certainly agree that it is potent - I could only track down the aftershave spray but it has the lasting qualities of at least an EDT! It has that typical slightly pungent Puig note, but here it is well under control allowing the warm, rich notes to win through. Superb!
