I know there are alot of members who really like Rochas man. I, for one, are not among them. Overwhelming synthetic lavender. That's what I get when I wear this scent. I can say I dislike this scent intensely and would never buy it let alone wear it. 15 November 2008

Below are 70+ reviews of Rochas Man, so I can't add much new in terms of describing the coffee/lavender/vanilla gourmand accord. To my nose it comes off almost like cookie dough at first, although in the heart the lavender is somewhat more prominent and eventually coffee and vanilla. The longevity is very good, though it stays close to the skin. Of course this isn't a bad thing with gourmands. What I like about RM is that it's a straightforward gourmand that isn't too sweet. Bond No. 9's New Haarlem is much richer, with more food smells, as is Yohji Homme. A*Men and A*Men Pure Coffee are more bitter and stronger. CSP's Vanille Mokha is just coffee. Rochas Man fits in perfectly as a very wearable gourmand that isn't always recognizable as a gourmand to those around you. My fiancee at first did not recognize it as food smelling, but instead noticed the smooth lavender. This is very inexpensive and widely available. An excellent 'reference' gourmand for fans of the genre. 06 October 2008

Like the odor itself, but most men I asked (with an unmarked blotter strip) thought it was a womens fragrance. Perhaps this was marketed to the wrong gender? Cool packaging:) 16 September 2008

if you love vanilla and milky coffee notes, you should try it, it is also long lasting especially on clothes. To me, it is much safer form of Angel Men as far as the opening notes are concerned. 10 September 2008

Honestly, I don't smell much of anything. Smells like cocoa powder and weak coffee poured out onto a cardboard box. It's dry and bitter, and I don't get much sweetness at all. Stays VERY close to the skin. It's inoffensive, but sillage is also almost non-existent. I can't give it a thumbs down because I don't dislike the way it smells. However, I am very disappointed overall. 08 September 2008

This stuff is divine. I don't really get the "coffee note" although i get a similar kind of bitter, roasted smell. The vanilla is sweet but not overly, which seems all to prevalent in scents of this ilk (A Men anyone?). It's really hard to get where I live, but whilst it's available online, I can't see myself being without it (also it's kinda nice that it's not too common). Only downside to wearing this is i keep sniffing myself and going "mmmm" 06 September 2008
