A true classic. As the others have pointed out, it's very similar to it's contemporary Dior's Eau Sauvage, but a little more clear, less obtuse and perfectly capable of holding it's own w/o comparison 40 years later! Love it! Great for an evening out. RECOMMENDED! 13 September 2008

Don't like it. My bottle must be bad or something, but then again, I do not like eau Sauvage, so maybe that's why. It smells old (70s/80s) with a skin musk showing up rather quickly. Just not worth it to me. 25 June 2008

I came to Capucci pour Homme with high expectations. The reviews below compare it favorably to Eau Sauvage and Armani pour Homme, two of my favorite fragrances. Further, I appreciate a good moss note in some fougeres. I was disappointed in this one. The citrus which is high in ES and ApH is very, very low in CpH, almost miniscule. Believe me, I know ES and ApH very well, this is nothing like either of those excellent scents. Further, this does not have a sparking green moss scent like the superb Penhaligons English Fern or Trumpers Wild Fern. CpH emits a tough, brackish-brown scent reminiscent of the obnoxious Aqua di Selva or the wizzened and leathery Azzaro. Uggh. The dry-down mellows a bit, and intermittent nice notes emerge, but generally it has a heavy, dull, powdery finish. Peace be unto its fans, this one is not for me. 22 March 2007

If you like not only Eau Sauvage, but also Armani pour homme, it's most for you likely to enjoy this one. Clean, inoffensive and refined chypre, with a long-lasting yet discreet woody and leathery drydown. Sometimes powerful enough to be worn even in winter, during the evening or formally, yet also light, aromatic and herbal enough to be a perfect companion during the summer and with more casual wear. The proper definition of a classic, having in it the power of being elegant without ever overstepping the limits of good taste. 08 January 2007

I really like this. It is much cleaner than eau sauvage with fantastic top and middle clarity and less clutter. Only reservation is drydown which is a little bland, but still with some nice notes. Has the house signature which I can't quite place but like very much. 20 April 2006
